The Napa Vinos are the 2017 Last Man Stands San Francisco North Bay League Champs, winning the final against the LMS Yankies in a final over thriller at Piper Park, Larkspur. This is the first time Napa has taken the title, defending a low score of 113 off their 20 five-ball overs, getting the final two Yankies’ batsmen out in a double-play on the second last ball of the innings, with the Yankies falling two runs short on 111.
A busy season for the Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) continued as they hosted the San Francisco based Seals recently at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa. While the Seals only play a handful of matches each season they showed all of their skill and ability with a comprehensive victory over their hosts. Each year the NVCC and Seals play for the Vino Cup, a trophy inaugurated in 2014 for the annual match between the two teams.
A busy few weeks for the Napa Valley Cricket Club saw them host three matches including their showcase match, the Napa Valley World Series of Cricket, at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa. Matches against local club teams from both Bradshaw and Marin both took place at McGrath Field on the grounds of Napa State Hospital and saw NVCC win one game convincingly, and record a historic tied match in another.
