Sizzling Irwin sets up narrow victory for Napa against Sri Lanka Socials

NVCC’s Tim Irwin produced a textbook display of fast bowling to set the groundwork for what turned out to be a narrow, grinding victory for the local team against the Sri Lanka Socials in Calistoga recently. Supported by an all-round solid bowling and fielding display, Irwin’s five wickets for just 12 runs off his seven overs kept Sri Lanka to a modest total of 132. That being said a batting collapse necessitated a rear-guard action with the bat by NVCC captain Bernie Peacock and Phil Bourke with an undefeated ninth wicket partnership of 29 to finally get NVCC across the line later in the day.

Join us for our 3rd Annual Napa Valley Cricket Club “World Series” as we open our 2014 season in traditional style.  See the 2-time winners, Australia / America, take on the Rest of the World in an intra-club game of cricket that starts at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday 13th April.

Join us at the Fairgrounds in Calistoga for a day of cricket with wine from club sponsor CLOS du VAL, food from REBEL DOG and beer from NAPA POINT BREWING.

The Napa Valley Cricket Club will host the Caribbean All-Stars in what is sure to be quite the exhibition match. The Caribbean All-Stars will boast an incredible team including ex West Indies International and Captain Alvin Kallicharran.

Toss at 10.15am by Calistoga Mayor, Chris Canning.

Food and wine available from NVCC Sponsor Clos Du Val.
