Busy end to July sees Napa Valley CC host two San Francisco based teams

The Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) shared the spoils with two visiting San Francisco teams in the month of July. A loss to the San Francisco Seals and a win against the Twitter Kabootars brings them to .500 for their season with six games played to date since their season opening Napa Valley World Series of Cricket.

American member Jared Thatcher contributes substantially to NVCC win over Marin CC Socials in the “game of his life”

Continuing a trend for the 2016 season of standout performances from American members NVCC club stalwart Jared Thatcher had the game of his life in the recent victory over Marin CC Socials. With both ball and bat Thatcher excelled, returning figures of 2 wickets for 20 runs off 4 overs while with the bat he notched up 42 runs off 48 balls and was not out as NVCC surpassed the Marin CC total in the 33rd over. Bedeviled by old hockey injuries over the last two seasons to both his shoulder and ankle Thatcher has worked hard on his game in the nets over the last number of months and his return to full game fitness was marked by an impressive all-round display.

Sonoma Gullies overcome NVCC in first 2016 match

The Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) lost their second game in a row falling in the final over of the game to a six that sealed the game for local rivals, the Sonoma Gullies. With the toss won by the Gullies captain Anu Shah on a day that was forecast to be hot, even by Calistoga standards, he put NVCC into bat. League commitments on the day meant that Sonoma fielded a depleted side and drafted in a number of NVCC members to make up their numbers.
