A historic day for the Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) with their first ever cricket match in the city of Napa ended in a chastening defeat to wine country rivals Sonoma Gullies recently. Despite a strong showing with the bat from Pete Sander and four wickets apiece for Karan Grewal and club captain Bernie Peacock NVCC had no answer to a strong team performance from the Gullies.
The Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) had its annual Player of the Year awards hosted by the club’s main sponsor Clos du Val winery recently.
The Napa Valley Cricket Club (NVCC) hosted North Bay cricket rivals – Marin CC Socials and the Sonoma Gullies – at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga in August. The game against Marin was the third in the 2016 series of three between the clubs with NVCC having already won the series 2-0. By contrast NVCC were hoping for their first win against the Santa Rosa based Sonoma Gullies since May of 2014.
